Klipsch deal sounds good to Anyware

Melbourne-based distributor, Anyware Computers, has signed up to carry the Klipsch range of multimedia speakers.

Managing director, Garrison Huang, said the speakers would add some prestige to its low-end speaker line-up.

As the vendor's national distributor, Anyware would look to increase brand awareness for its ProMedia Ultra 2.0 and ProMedia GMX A-2.1 models.

They are compatible with a range of devices including iPod, MP3, CD, DVD, PCs, game consoles, laptops, TV and VCR.

"We have had a lot of demand for this product," Huang said. "It took us a fair bit of time to get through the Australian approval process because the product had to meet local standards."

Klipsch products were previously carried by Innovision Technology, but that relationship had been terminated by the distributor due to poor sales and technical issues with its 230V amplifier range.

Klipsch director of sales for Asia and Latin America, Sheldon Combs, said the product had failed to comply with Australian voltage standards.

"We have had a dash of bad luck with our multimedia products in Australia but think we finally got it right," he said. "With a new partner and product range, we have every reason to believe we can be successful."
