New IP system to offer better customer connection while reducing telephony costs

NSC Enterprise Solutions has landed a contract with loyalty marketing firm, Pinpoint. The deal is estimated to be worth about $700,000.

The networking integrator will deploy an Avaya IP telephony (IPT) system, as well provide ongoing support.

Managing director, Craig Neil, said Pinpoint was an existing customer. NSC was up against Telstra and Alcatel for the latest deal.

"We put the original solution in about five years ago and they decided to upgrade to an IP system. It is a pretty big and important move for them because of what their business does and the way they are now able to integrate with their customers," he said.

"They were looking for ways to reduce their costs between sites and a better way to connect with customers to provide better overall service."

NSC will replace Pinpoint's legacy Avaya TDM system with an S8720 media server and Communication Manager 3.1 with conversion to IP Connect. It is also implementing three Integrated Voice Response (IVR) systems, which can offload about 25 per cent of incoming calls, depending on the environment.

Neil said the contract would be completed within the next month.
