Vectra pumps up Praxa's local presence

Acquisition of Adelaide security services company will be one of many

Enterprise software vendor, CDC Software, has picked up Adelaide-based services company, Vectra Corporation, for an undisclosed sum. The new addition fits alongside CDC's consulting services company, Praxa.

Praxa chairman, John Clough, said the acquisition would allow it to grow the CDC/Praxa organisation locally.

Vectra's technical skills base in Adelaide also gave it a big stepping stone into the SA market, he said.

"We want to expand on what Vectra has into our other operations in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane," he said. "We will give them access to our customers for selling their services and vice versa."

Clough said Vectra provided a new offering for Praxa in the security area. Its main clients include SA government, Mitsubishi and EDS. Vectra has revenues of more than $14 million. Praxa's revenues currently sit at about $30 million.

"Our intention is to take [Praxa] up to $200 million in revenue and we can only do that through acquisition," he said. "We would like to grow along the eastern seaboard and we can't do that organically."

Vectra will run as a services division of Praxa. All 60 employees will be kept on-board. Clough said he would like to hire more staff in sales and marketing.

"We are actively looking to expand Praxa and are looking to make more acquisitions in all states," he said.
