Wavelink recruits new manager

Melbourne-based distribution outfit, Wavelink Communications, has appointed Michael Whyte as its new channel manager. He replaces Lee Lister, who has taken the sales director's role at wireless asset tracking vendor, AeroScout.

Whyte will be charged with managing, maintaining and assisting its dealership base. Wavelink currently retains about 300 national resellers.

"I will ensure that our dealers are adequately serviced and that we are meeting their needs," he said. "We will also assist them with customer presentations and promoting the Kirk DECT product line within the market place."

Whyte said he also planned to look at providing some key market strategies such as a partner program. "We would like to be a lot more accessible to the dealer network and end users," he said. "I'm also hoping to assist our dealer network with the VoIP convergence in the market."

Whyte previously spent five years with telecommunications integrator, Tiecom, as senior sales executive. His resume also includes stints at Insync Projects, Red Rock Communications and NEC Australia.
