JB Hi-Fi is now the exclusive retailer of Freshtel's branded Internet phone products.
Acting Freshtel CTO, John McMullan, said JB Hi-Fi was an attractive choice because of its commitment to training sales agents in Freshtel's prepaid and calling plans. He said the products would be available in Victorian stores only before Christmas due to the training regime. The Freshtel line will extend across over 50 JB Hi-Fi stores nationally in the new year.
Freshtel CEO, Rhonda O'Donnell, said the company had been, and would continue to be proactive in increasing its market presence.
She said the arrangement with JB Hi-Fi to train staff in promoting products was a sign Freshtel's initiatives were getting results.
"JB Hi-Fi had the brand and market reach and there is a nice cultural fit between our two companies," O'Donnell said.
Freshtel is looking for more reseller/retail partners for products outside of the JB Hi-Fi exclusive range, including mobile Internet telephony products which will be launched in 2008.
