Datacentre distributor brings on range of power management products from US-based Server Technology

Comments

Niche distributor, Comsol, has signed on to distribute Server Technology's power management solutions in Australia.

Comsol national sales manager, Gavin Green, said the US-based vendor made the largest, most flexible and highest quality products in its field including cabinet power distribution units, branch circuit protection, power and environment monitoring and serial console port access.

ServerTech traditionally traded directly with resellers, but brought on the tier-two distributor to spread the products to a broader range of people, Green said. The pair had been in talks for the past six months.

ServerTech's power management and distribution products complemented Comsol's existing datacentre vendor line-up, Green said. Comsol will now look at bundling options to offer resellers complete datacentre solutions.

It has been on an aggressive vendor recruitment drive in the past 12 months, bringing on Uptime Devices, B&R Data, NetClarity and LANDesk. The distributor has recently recruited three new staff to cope with the growth.

John Bartzis has been appointed business development manager and Ritesh Kumar has come on-board as sales engineer. Both are based in Melbourne.

"Melbourne is our largest growth area, and we expect business to have tripled there by the end of next year," Green said.

Comsol has also hired Duane Bernhagen as an additional sales engineer in its Sydney office. The new appointments bring Comsol's total staff number to 17.
