Uptime and HP subsidiary, ProCurve, have struck a distribution agreement to formalise their three-year relationship.
Uptime managing director, Tony Geagea, said the services-led distributor was looking for a networking platform which could operate with technology from its vendor partner, Mitel.
"There is a great synergy at an R&D level between HP and Mitel products. This partnership will help us elevate our channel partners," he said.
The formalisation of the arrangement also allowed Uptime to help HP grow ProCurve in the market, Geagea said. Uptime will have access to the full ProCurve product range. The vendor's products are also distributed by Ingram Micro.
Over the past three years, Uptime has made investments towards high value services of the ProCurve product including engineering, lead generation, 24/7 nation-wide support and a dedicated tender response team, Geagea said. These capabilities and three-year track record made the arrangement a low risk one for both companies, he said.
Uptime has more than 200 partners and is currently recruiting more. In the last eight months, the distributor has added three vendors in addition to ProCurve including Expand Networks, Trapeze Networks and GN Jabra.
