Networking distributor, Alloy Computer Products, has struck a supplier agreement with US IP-PBX vendor, pbxnsip.
The pbxnsip software product is compatible with Windows and Linux platforms and has a range of features, including the ability to directly communicate with Microsoft Exchange 2007.
Alloy product manager, Greg Round, said the distributor tested a range of products from various IP-PBX vendors before opting to sign up with pbxnsip.
A key factor for deciding on the vendor's software over an open source solution was the implementation choices it offered resellers, he said.
"Many of our resellers want to build and brand their own systems. With this software they can have a PBX system on their branding, regardless of the platform they use," Round said.
Round saw bundling opportunities with its range of Snom IP phones as Snom and pbxnsip share a pre-existing relationship. Alloy also carries VoIP hardware from Epygi.
Resellers can download a trial version of pbxnsip before license activation. Alloy plans to provide free reseller support.
Round said its distribution agreement with pbxnsip was the first time that the vendor has had a notable presence in Australia.
In a statement, pbxnsip global sales director, Tom Mullaney, said the company chose to work with Alloy because it was a well respected VoIP supplier locally.
"Alloy will do a great job bringing their expertise with VoIP technologies to bear in the promotion of pbxnsip, and the support of customers," he said.
