Datacentre hardware vendor, Rittal, has formed a partnership with Melbourne-based reseller, Powerfirm, to deliver its Lampertz's infrastructure solutions nationally.
Lampertz produces modular hardware for protecting security rooms from events such as explosions, fires and vandalism. The solutions have not previously been available in Australia. Both Lampertz and Rittal are a part of the Friedhelm Loh holding group.
Rittal business development manager, Mark Roberts, said Rittal did the 'inner' part of the solution, such as UPS, racks and cooling, while Lampertz dealt with the physical environment.
Powerfirm had been looking to broaden its portfolio last year, and saw a gap in the Australian market for Lampertz solutions, Powerfirm product manager, Graham Halton, said. The solutions would appeal to customers looking for modular, and fast deployment protection.
"We're going to formally start by targeting mining companies who need fast deployment. There is also a lack of these solutions in Sydney and Melbourne for the corporate and government sectors," he said.
Powerfirm is planning to market the products through a series of seminars in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth, and will be attending a large mining exhibition in WA.
