Communications systems provider opens a new facility that will manage the rollout of new radio equipment, ongoing maintenance and upgrades for the emergency services sector

Communications systems provider, Tait Radio Communications, has opened a new facility in Clayton to service its expanded Victorian business.

The company deploys and supports communications systems for emergency services across the country.

The new workshop and project planning centre will manage the rollout of new radio equipment, ongoing maintenance and upgrades for the emergency services sector.

Tait is currently working with the Country Fire Authority (CFA) on its Radio Replacement Project, which will create up to 12 new jobs during the next year. As part of the deal, it is rolling out 13,000 digital trunked radios, which is expected to be completed mid-2012.

It has engaged with sub-contractors, AA Radio Services, which has already hired nine new technical and project management staff in Melbourne, and further staff will be added over the next 12 months.

“The new facility will also house our existing Melbourne staff, and the company greatly looks forward to creating more roles by developing our business further in Victoria,” Tait Asia Pacific managing director, Brett Smythe, said in a statement.
