Google’s Nexus S, the first smartphone to run the Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” OS, is now available through Vodafone.
Nexus S is the successor of Google’s Nexus One, manufactured by HTC, which was released early last year.
The new handset was co-designed with Samsung Electronics.
Existing customers can get their hands on a Nexus S from March 9 while new customers will have to wait until March 16.
The phone features a 4-inch LCD touchscreen and a 5 megapixel camera.
“Using Gingerbread, Vodafone customers will be able to get the most from their Google mobile apps and enjoy them on a 4-inch contour display,” Vodafone director of marketing, John Casey, said in a statement.
A Samsung 1GHz processor with an onboard graphics card, along with 16GB internal memory is also included in the phone.
The Nexus S is available on either a 12 or 24 month plan. Refer to the table above for pricing information.
