Compuware combine two solutions to build Gomez 360
Technology performance company, Compuware, has merged the offerings of Gomez Web Load Testing and dynaTrace Test Center Edition to produce its Gomez 360 Web Load Testing solution.
Gomez 360 combines high volume cloud-based load with geo-based realistic load to accelerate time-to-market by quickly identifying user experience performance problems and isolating the root cause down to the line of code. This results in data collaboration across Gomez’s entire network of 150,000 Last Mile locations.
The solution, which is targeted at load testing for Web, mobile and cloud applications, utilises dynaTrace’s PurePath Technology for extensive detail and code-level context in all transactions during load testing. Sessions are constantly recorded for off-line analysis and collaboration, allowing for visibility into application operations.
The unified view across entire devices, the Internet, a corporate WAN, in the cloud and even inside datacenters, allows for optimised performance of applications and faster functionality.
Epson’s introduces new projector and printers
Following the recent launch of its 3D HD projector range, Epson, has introduced a portable entertainment and multimedia solution.
The MG-850HD projector offers Epson’s 3LCD technology via a 1280 x 800 WXGA resolution with 3000 to one contrast ratio, and a 2800 lumens light output.
The projector includes two built-in 10W stereo speakers, a USB plug ‘n’ play setup and HDMI and VGA inputs for multiple connectivity options.
The Epson MG-850HD is available for $1199.
The vendor also introduced two inkjet printers as part of its WorkForce Pro 4500 Series for business printing.
Traditionally restricted to the photo printing market, the WorkForce Pro WP-4540 and WP-4530 multi-function printers are the first inkjets to penetrate the business printing market, according to Epson.
With a strong focus on speed, the range operates on minimal warm-up times to increase first-page-out speeds. Epson conducted local tests demonstrating the single-sided print speed is up to 15 per cent quicker than comparable models, with double-sided printing that surpasses competitors by 53 per cent.
Both the WP-4540 and WP-4530 operate on Micro Piezo Technology, in combination with variable droplet size technology, rather than boiling it. This contributes to efficiency as the drying period is reduced, avoiding smearing and print quality.
The vendor is specifically targeting small businesses and claims 50 per cent overall cost reduction due to easy-to-replace XL ink cartridges, which promise up to 2400 pages in black and 1200 in colour, resulting in a 0.112 cost per page.
While in standby and during operation, both models use 70 per cent less power in comparison to comparable products on the market, the vendor stated.
The WP-4540 offers a 580 sheet capacity (two trays of 250 each, with an additional multifunction tray at the rear of the device that enables photo, label, and envelope printing), while the WP-4530 holds 330. The overall duty cycle is 20,000 pages.
It also features Epson Connect, a wireless printing solution. It includes Epson iPrint (with support for Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print) and Email Print for on-the-go convenient and virtual printing. Both products can still be plugged in with wires or connected wirelessly.
Cooler Master’s CM Storm gaming headset
Cooler Master’s CM Storm Sirus gaming headset, offers 5.1 surround sound and has with eight speakers (four on each side), including an extra-large 40mm sub driver for additional bass and six additional 30mm drivers.
The device is designed for real-time 360 degree audio. The uni-directional microphone reduces background sound.
The Sirus is bundled with a Tactical Mixing Console that allows for customisable adjustments of each speaker channel, giving the customer the opportunity to modify sound distribution and independent volume.
The Sirus is built with large comfortable cushions that sit around the ears, and offers the choice between smooth leatherette or breathable weaved ear pads which can be clipped on and off.
CM’s Sirus is available for $139.
Mobotix updates MxControlCenter
Mobotix’s MxControlCenter has undergone a major overhaul to improve its operator usability functions and overall functionality.
The 2.5 version contains an array of features which build on its predecessor’s foundation.
The new features include saved search profiles for single-click search, unlimited users and groups right management control with full action audit log and video motion search on recorded footage for monitoring and threat identification.
The software setup process has been simplified with the ability to configure numerous cameras in one operation with automatic camera discovery through the built-in Bonjour services.
Upgrades have also been made to alarm notification and management, system and software configuration management and backup and flexible grid and background layouts.
With an improved export function that allows additional container formats, as well as live recording of camera streams (even across multiple cameras), users can merge several views and record them as one clip.
Kingston puts the ‘top secret’ in your pocket
Memory products provider, Kingston has unveiled its DataTraveler 6000 (DT6000), a FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standard) Validated and 100 per cent encrypted USB flash drive for data protection.
Built with Secured by Spyrus Technology which supports 256-bit AES hardware-based encryption with XTS block cipher mode, the DT6000 offers strong protection for sensitive information.
It goes further to include ‘military-grade’ elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) as part of its Suite B set of cryptographic algorithms.
According to the company, at a time where security focus is shifting to cloud-based services, Kingston is maintaining its presence in the hardware security industry with the addition of the DT6000.
