Datacentre infrastructure solutions vendor, Nutanix, has entered into a distribution agreement with WhiteGold Solutions for the A/NZ region.
As per the agreement, WhiteGold’s Virtual Computing (VC) Gold division will offer Nutanix’s full portfolio of virtual computing platform products to value added reseller and system integration partners in the region.
The deal also extends Nutanix’s partner program, the Nutanix Partner Network, to WhiteGold’s channel partners.
The Nutanix Partner Network is an end-to-end partner program designed to maximise partner productivity and profitability.
The company only recently opened its first Australian office in Sydney, in June.
Nutanix Asia-Pacific vice-president, Matt Young, said partnering with WhiteGold Solutions, has enabled the company to expand its distribution network and further validates its commitment to its channel partners.
“We formally opened our own office in the region earlier this year with the prime objectives being the rapid enablement and go-to-market support of our channel partners. The appointment of WhiteGold is a critical part of this strategy and further illustrates our commitment to the channel,” he said.
WhiteGold Solutions managing director, Dominic Whitehand, mentioned that the company was questioning the market for new, disruptive innovation in next-generation technology to spearhead its datacentre technology stack.
“We will enter the market with our renowned passion and aggression to match the significance of Nutanix being the fastest infrastructure start-up in the last decade,” he said.
WhiteGold Solutions commercial director, Leigh Howard, stated that the distributor had been looking for a new technology to add to its datacentre portfolio in response to the dramatic changes happening in that market as companies continue to adopt Cloud computing and virtualisation at a staggering rate.
“The accelerated demand for more efficient, high-performance and scalable datacentre infrastructure gathers pace daily, and converged infrastructure has helped enterprises around the globe address this growing demand,” he claimed.
According to Howard, the deal cements the company’s position in the datacentre market, following its deal with Rittal, which was signed in February.
“The deal with Rittal was the foundation for providing the datacentre infrastructure environment around power cooling, racks and cabinets but now, we’re focused on filling those racks and cabinets with disruptive technology, which Nutanix will form the cornerstone of that strategy going forward.”
This contract with Nutanix marks the second datacentre distribution deal for WhiteGold Solutions.
However, Howard said a few of its existing security vendors have started to play in the datacentre space.
“A lot of the security appliance technologies that we’re selling in the security division already sits in the datacentre, and that’s why this deal is complementary to our current line-up.”
He said he expects more vendors coming into play in the next six months that will be complimentary to Nutanix and that will also fit around WhiteGold Solutions’ datacentre strategy.
“We want to create a complete ecosystem of datacentre vendors that we can take to our channel partners. As we go forward with our ecosystem strategy and start introducing other complimentary vendors, we will be bundling solutions and offering joint marketing,” he added.
Whitehand added that WhiteGold Solutions is also actively looking to recruit partners into the Nutanix Partner Network from its extensive network of resellers, integrators and datacentre providers.
