Two applicants will be offered a year's wage to work with a charity of their choice, the Vodafone Foundation announced today.
The telecommunications provider’s charity arm has opened applications this week to take up two paid leave positions within its 2014 World of Difference Program. Successful applicants will be compensated up to $85,000 for a years work.
Now in its eleventh year, the program offers applicants the chance to take a year off and focus on a charity or cause they are passionate about. Forty two Australians have participated in the program to date.
Vodafone Foundation head, Alyssa Jones, said that the charity believes that cash alone is not a solution to many issues. Jones stated that investing in people and empowering them to make a difference is a more effective way of tackling such problems.
Applications opened on February 3 through the Foundation’s website and will close on March 3.
