UXC acquires Saltbush Group

Cyber security services firm to be owned by UXC subsidiary

UXC Consulting has acquired cyber security company, Saltbush Group.

Saltbush is a privately owned information and and cyber security professional services firm. The group specialises in assurance, consulting, development solutions and training within information and cyber security.

Saltbush has reported annual revenue of about $12m and has 66 staff. UXC claims the acquisition will enhance service offerings for UXC consulting and UXC Connect.

UXC Connect managing director, Cris Nicolli, said the firm had been looking to augment its capabilities in the sector for some time.

“I am delighted to have one of the most accredited and respected organisations in Australia, become part of UXC.”

He said Saltbush is Australia’s only cyber security focused Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Other credentials of Saltbush include: an InfoSec Registered Assessor Program (I-RAP) and certified to provide IRAP training; a Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers (CREST) approved company; and a PCI DSS Qualified Security Assessor (QSA).

The directors of Saltbush Group released a statement in which they said an analysis of the industry led them to conclude acquisition by UXC would be beneficial as the firm aligned well with Saltbush’s core values and culture.

Saltbush also said integration into UXC Consulting would allow the firm to exercise a level of agility in its business practices.

The acquisition will be paid for by a combination of cash and shares. It is said to be immediately earnings accretive.

Cyber security now is extremely high on government and enterprise’s list of priorities. UXC is clearly hoping the acquisition will leave them well placed to address the concerns of the public and private sector in the coming months and years.
