Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia has launched its WeOptimise platform to host Cloud-based solutions.
WeOptimise is an off-premise private Cloud providing hosted Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions aimed at Australian businesses.
Document management dolutions product marketing manager, Mike Dooner, said the platform is a response to growing end-user demand to improve document workflow and interest in SaaS.
“It positions us for greater influence in the way our customers consume, manage and pay for IT services,” he said.
The first solution to be offered on WeOptimise is an enterprise content management service to process and manage content, and automate workflows, via the Cloud.
The WeOptimise datacentre is hosted in Australia in order to comply with local data sovereignty regulation.
Need for the Cloud
National marketing manager, Stevan Caldwell, said WeOptimise comes as demand for Cloud services is high and businesses are looking to increase their Cloud-related spending.
“Globally, business agility has now become the main advantage delivered by Cloud computing,” he said.

Caldwell said the need to de-capitalise IT costs and automate operations, as well as forecast supply and demand, is pushing businesses to the Cloud where they can reduce capital expenditure and be more adaptable to change.
“In the initial phase of Cloud, the key metric was cost reduction,” he said.
“However, as organisations look to aggressively innovate in their markets, the ability to enter new markets, create new products and services, and ‘punch above their weight’ has now become the big game changer.”
