Optus has launched a managed application and network performance management (ANPM) product based on Riverbed’s SteelCentral platform.

The solution uses Riverbed’s ‘near real-time’ data to identify and troubleshoot potential performance issues across on- and off-premises infrastructure (including software-as-a-service and hybrid Cloud).

SteelCentral’s features span dependency mapping, user response-time monitoring, behavioural analytics, and application status-based console.

Optus analysts will use the systems monitoring technology to mitigate or minimise impact on clients.

“Businesses need to provide a consistent experience, allowing customers to receive the products, services and support they want and expect, which means businesses are concerned with more than speed and availability of their networks, but also how an application’s performance is impacting on customer experience, productivity and profitability,” Optus Business product and ICT vice-president, David Caspari, said.

Optus managed ANPM runs as an additional layer on top of its Evolve MPLS network platform.

The service is available to existing Optus and Riverbed customers from today.
