Cloud was yet again the buzzword for 2014, though Reckon saw it reflected in market adoption.
Chief information officer, Zack Levy, said the Cloud trend had a “strong doing flavour” this year.
“In the Australian marketplace, there was no different topic for discussion,” he said.
“Businesses were gearing themselves for the Cloud in one way or another.”
There has been a long-standing trend of talking about the Cloud, though 2014 was the year when action was being taken.
“Australian businesses that did not think about the Cloud are thinking about trialling it,” Levy said.
“Those who were trialling it are in the Cloud one way or another. “
Moving to the Cloud
This continued interest in the Cloud has meant the Australian region experienced significant growth in adoption in recent months.
For Reckon, Levy said 2014 was the year of the Cloud.
“We decided in late 2013 to move everything into the Cloud, and we finally did it in 2014,” he said.
“Now we’re so used to it that we can’t imagine going back.”
The migration to the Cloud has mean Reckon is architecting and behaving around the way its applications, systems and solutions operate in the Cloud.
“The Cloud is the new normal for us, and now we’re trying to take it to the next level,” Levy said.
