FireEye has continued its aggressive staff acquisition strategy, poaching Symantec A/NZ's senior director, technical sales organisation, Sean Kopelke.

Kopelke will be FireEye’s new director of alliances and MSSPs (managed service security providers) for APJ, and will remain based in Sydney.

He announced his departure from Symantec on April 10 via Twitter.

Kopelke was reached out to for comment, but ARN understands he is on leave until he starts his new role on Monday, April 20. FireEye will be making further comment late next week, once he has settled into his new role.

This follows on from FireEye hiring Symantec's vice president, Eric Hoh, as its new president of APJ just last month. Hoh will be overseeing FireEye’s business operations and sales across the Asia Pacific region, and will be based out of Singapore. Kopelke will be reporting into Scott McCrady, vice president for global solution providers and APJ channels .

Chris Barton, formerly FireEye's manager strategic alliances and channel A/NZ, has also picked up a new job title, regional alliance manager. He will also now report in to Kopelke.

Former NSA man and FireEye threat analyst, Steve Miller, told ARN that, as regional operations lead, he has been brought over to the Australian market to help staff the company’s new Security Operations Centre, which launched on March 4.
