CEO of integrated travel company, Helloworld Limited, Elizabeth Gaines, has joined the NEXTDC board as non-executive director.
Gaines is also a non-executive director of Fortescue Metals Group and has a proven track record in international business and financial leadership.
She also has undertaken extensive work in digital businesses and is experienced in the impact of growth in Asian economies on the Australian business environment.
In a statement to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), NEXTDC chairman, Douglas Flynn, said, "We are very pleased to welcome Elizabeth to assist the company meet its next phase of growth and strategic development. She will bring unique insight and business acumen to the board as NEXTDC evolves as one of Australia's leading technology enterprises."
Gaines said that NEXTDC's rapid evolution was bringing the wider economy a genuine benefit by enabling the digital economy and nit was exciting to be part of such a dynamic company.
She has previously been a non-executive director of Mantra Group, Heytesbury Pty Ltd and John Holland Ltd, and is a member of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and the Australian institute of Company Directors.
