Kogan's Atlas Pro is a 'gaming' notebook with a sub-$1000 pricetag

Not the best specs, though

Discount online retailer Kogan is targeting the gaming market with its Atlas Pro.

The Atlas Pro goes on sale for $999, but the inexpensive price covers computing hardware that is dated.

The Windows 10 notebook has a 15.6-inch, Full HD display.

Inside is an fourth generation processor hailing from Intel’s year-old Haswell family. The 2.5GHz quad-core CPU can be boosted in spurts to run at 3.5GHz.

Handling graphics is NVIDIA’s introductory GeForce 940M. NVIDIA promotes the graphics card as being designed for multimedia — photos, videos and music. It sits below the company’s GTX950M, which is the company’s introductory graphics card.

There’s 8GB of older DDR3 RAM and a 1TB hard drive.

Connectivity options fare well with dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and four USB ports, of which three support USB 3.0.

Presale for the Kogan Atlas Pro starts today. The $999 notebook begins shipping on 6 November.
