South Australia-based distributor, Leader Computers has purchased selected assets of Altech Computers.
Altech appointed administrators, Andrew Scott and Daniel Walley of PPB Advisory on December 3, after more than 18 years in business, pointing the finger at credit insurance companies for its demise.
The asset purchase enables Leader to improve its product range, customer service and offerings.
Leader managing director Theo Kristoris, said the acquisition brings the best of Altech and Leader together to create an IT distributor that can offer customer service, a large vendor product lineup and increased reseller support.
“Leader’s purpose is to help our our resellers grow their business and profitability,” Kristoris said. “We look forward to working closely with the IT reseller community to help them grow and reach their goals in 2016 and beyond.”
As a result, Altech resellers will have an account with Leader and can access significant stock holdings in all major cities including Silverwater NSW, Noble Park Victoria, Coorparoo Queensland, Adelaide South Australia, and as of January 18 - Osborne Park Western Australia.
Leader is also offering warranty support for previous Altech purchases and is also running up to 80 per cent off clearance sale on Altech’s website, which ends January 29.
Leader will also be adding new vendors to its portfolio this year and its resellers will also get access Altech’s website, RA and other systems.
Altech resellers will also gain access to a dedicated account management team across the country and marketing programs.
