Wholesale mobile provider, Optus Wholesale, has signed an exclusive three-year mobile agreement with Vocus Communications (ASX:VOC). The 36 month agreement is an extension of an 11-year relationship with M2 Group, which merged with Vocus in February this year.
This extends the partnership of the company, which expires July 2016, until June 30, 2019.
Optus Wholesale managing director, Rob Parcell, said the exclusive deal was made following a competitive pitch and that it is a terrific win for the company as it extends services for Vocus’ consumer brands – Dodo and iPrimus – as well as SMB brand, Commander.
“It’s a rejuvenation of our relationship and we are looking forward to further evolving and developing our relationship with Vocus,” he said.
According to Parcell, Optus has significantly invested in its mobile network to further deepen and expand coverage, which has resonated strongly with Optus’ wholesale and branded customers.
“We have consistently invested in our network, with more than $1 billion annually over the past 10 years. It is through these investments we are delivering coverage depth and breadth across metropolitan and regional locations nationally, particularly in the mobile space.”
Parcell added that a continued focus on making it even easier for wholesale partners to do business with Optus had resulted in an uptick in positive customer sentiment.
“Partners need to continually adapt to the competitive landscape and to support them, we have focused on delivering billing, service and technology improvements resulting in increased efficiency, and supported their needs for more flexibility around customer pricing,” he said.
