Datacentre industry veteran and DPSA CEO, Jacques Tesson, has officially taken the wrappers off his new business venture, called CertaOne.

The new business was launched in an effort to branch out to new markets, as Tesson felt constrained by the DPSA brand being synonymous with a single vendor being APC by Schneider Electric, with which Tesson said it developed a strong reputation for complex solution sales and project management.

DPSA and APC have since terminated their distribution agreement in Australia, which will come a close on June 18.

“Our team had a strong track record of supporting partners in technical pre and post-sales support, but we were constrained by our brand which had become synonymous with a single vendor with which we’d developed a strong reputation for complex solution sales and project management,” Tesson said.

“I realised that to make a success of branching out into new markets with other vendors and new customers, it made sense to launch a new venture where we could build a brand around a broader portfolio that appealed to a wider customer base.”

CertaOne has already grabbed some new contracts in the market with Huawei and CenturyLink, and will continue to broaden the portfolio with complementary services and products.

CertaOne was unveiled at Huawei’s channel partner events in Sydney and Melbourne, as the enterprise solutions distributor for its energy division, which includes sales and service of the vendor’s physical infrastructure offerings of UPS, power distribution, racks, containerised and micro data centres plus access to Huawei’s full IT offering.

In April, CertaOne became a founding partner for CenturyLink cloud services.

“It’s a big change and it’s been a busy few months ramping up and pulling together a team around these new offerings,” Tesson said. “CertaOne now has a team of experts in the physical infrastructure field with extensive experience gathered over many years in the industry. It’s focused on delivering converged IT solutions and services from Huawei.”

Tessson’s new business venture is being described as an IT and infrastructure solutions provider that delivers cloud services, converged IT and infrastructure technologies. It will work with partners that span across SMB, enterprise and government organisations that need to assess, streamline and integrate their IT services.

Tesson said he decided to the launch the new business after witnessing a common pain point for many IT companies wanting to get into reselling complex physical infrastructure services and solutions, and Cloud solutions, but didn’t want to invest money into extensive training or hiring in-house resources for those specific specialisations.

It will be headquartered in Sydney with staff in Melbourne and Brisbane.

“Several staff are former DPSA employees. We also have a team of cloud and IT experts focused on helping partners and customers deliver streamlined cloud services,” he said.

DPSA still has a team of people and will continue to operate with other vendors in its portfolio including TTK, Zellabox, SpamTitan and SendQuick. The DPSA business will continue with its strong focus on the data centre physical infrastructure space.
