Kurt Hansen has found a new home at Melbourne-based Tesserent

Check Point’s former A/NZ boss, Kurt Hansen, has re-entered the IT industry, taking a new role as head of global sales for IT security vendor, Tesserent.

Hansen left the Israeli-based security company in January as reported by ARN, and took a six month break, before joining his new company on June 15.

The Melbourne-based vendor and offers network “Security-as-a-Service” to 340 customers in 11 countries and territories and listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in February.

The company’s Australian customers include BMW, Toyota, Nintendo, The Good Guys, Reece and Maxitrans.

Tesserent acquired Blue Reef in May 2016 for $3.6 million which added 150 customers across 200 schools to its customer base and marked the company’s entrance into the education market.

Tesserent sells direct to customers in Australia and other countries. The company has also licensed the technology to channel partners in Hong Kong, South Korea, United Kingdom and UAE.
