Deloitte acquires Sydney partner amid Concur alliance deal

Sydney-based Concur partner snapped up in travel, expense and invoice management software push

Deloitte has acquired Australian Concur partner, Nesoi, as the consulting firm inks a new alliance deal with the SAP-owned travel, expense and invoice management software-as-a-service (SaaS) firm.

As a result of the transaction, Nesoi director, Mick Lavers, will become a Deloitte advisory partner and Nesoi’s other three staff will join Deloitte’s Advisory team in Sydney as directors.

"With Concur recognised as a leader in travel and expense management, we are increasingly being asked by our clients to implement it,” Deloitte advisory partner, Greg Haskins, said.

"The team from Nesoi Solutions brings us deep expertise in Concur configuration and support services and Deloitte is now able to support clients through all aspects of their Concur journey, from business case planning and configuration through to training and change management,” he said.

Nesoi Solutions started working with Concur over six years ago and is the company’s longest standing delivery partner. Deloitte claims that the company has worked with more Concur clients than any other provider in Australia.

"Being a part of Deloitte provides scale and leverages our experience from more than 70 Concur clients,” Lavers said. "Deloitte provides signiificant market reach and confidence that we will have the resources to maximise the opportunities for accounts payable automation and improved management of travel and expenses.”

According to Deloitte corporate advisory leader, Geoff Lamont, the consultancy house sees significant synergies in working with Concur.

"We have deep expertise across the end-to-end finance process for businesses of all sizes, helping to automate month-end reconciliation, easing the burden of data capture and supporting finance teams through the rapid technological and digital disruption underway,” Lamont said.

Meanwhile, for Concur’s A/NZ managing director, Matt Goss, the deal will provide businesses in the local market with another key channel to access the Concur spend management platform.

“We are excited about the new alliance with Deloitte in Australia and New Zealand,” Goss said. “Nesoi Solutions enhances Deloitte’s existing Concur practice and service expertise."

The acquisition comes eight months after Deloitte revealed plans to leverage the cloud expertise of five acquisitions completed in Australia within the last two years, as the consultancy house expands its cloud capabilities through Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The professional services giant committed to employing 2,500 practitioners globally as part of an AWS-dedicated cloud practice roll-out, designed to “de-risk” migration of enterprise applications to the public cloud.

With Australia a key part of the global equation, the AWS collaboration builds on a number of technology related transactions and alliances Deloitte has achieved in recent years across the country.

As a result, the company will access expertise from architecture and integration specialists, Plenary Networks - acquired in October 2016 - as well as Melbourne-based systems integrator, Sixtree - acquired in July 2016 - and identity and access management services provider, Qubit Consulting, acquired in September 2015.

Furthermore, the new practice will also be advanced through Oracle implementation services, identity management and cloud solution delivery experts, Dataweave - acquired in June 2015 - alongside specialist providers of cloud infrastructure, migration and management services, Cloud Solutions Group, acquired in November 2015.
