NTT Communications and Dimension Data have completed the transition to combine cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) capabilities, six months after revealing the joint global initiative.

Launched in November 2017, the new offering will fall under the management of NTT, designed to deliver end-to-end, cloud-based solutions to customers.

Terms of the deal will see both providers retain existing strategic partnerships under the new structure.

As reported by ARN, the unification of offerings aims to enable faster platform innovation, expanded connectivity options, as well as access to private cloud and cloud native services for organisations.

“We have completed transferring Dimension Data's cloud IaaS capability to NTT strengthening our cloud development and support capabilities,” NTT Communications senior executive vice president, Katsumi Nakata, confirmed.

“We will continue to strengthen hybrid IT solutions and contribute to digital transformation journey of our clients.”

Spanning 15 countries and regions, across 35 data centres, NTT will also expand service portfolio capabilities by combining with Dimension Data's private cloud and dedicated SAP platforms.

The move aims to provide “greater flexibility” when choosing a hybrid environment to combine a private environment (private cloud and on-premises system including colocation) with third party public clouds.

“Many of our clients have complex hybrid IT challenges and need services that are end-to-end and scale as per their specific requirements,” Dimension Data Group CEO, Jason Goodall, said.

“It is clear that we can better serve our clients and offer them solutions that address their evolving challenges by combining our strengths.

“We are now equipped to deliver a more compelling value proposition and greater level of innovation in hybrid IT to the market and our clients.”

Furthermore, Dimension Data customers will also have access to NTT’s SD-WAN, global data centres and DDoS protection service, allowing connectivity with cloud services alongside increased levels of security.

“The existing clients of NTT and Dimension Data as well as new clients of NTT Group will have access to a comprehensive range of cloud services which will be continuously enhanced to meet clients' demand,” 451 Research founder and research vice president, William Fellows, added.

“NTT Group has in practice created a cloud factory to support customers' digital transformation.”
