Cohesity puts training at centre of expanded partner program

Storage and back-up vendor Cohesity has launched an expansion of its channel partner program in an effort to provide more comprehensive training to service providers.

The US-headquartered vendor previously only offered a one-size-fits-all training program to partners regardless of their roles.

However, following the rapid expansion of its customer base and global reach, the firm will now offer services providers extensive training that is tailored to their specific roles.

The company, which claims to work entirely with channel partners, has also launched as part of the program a new third-party-hosted lab for providers’ technical staff to receive free experience and training with the Cohesity platform.

In addition, Cohesity will now offer channel partners more sales tools, "aggressive" marketing initiatives, and "lucrative" financial incentives for partners working with big clients.

In particular, partners which work to address the issues of heavily siloed data storage within organisations will be eligible to receive additional margin dollars, according to Cohesity.

Founded in California in 2013, Cohesity recently cemented its presence in Asia Pacific by bringing on board Theo Hourmouzis as ANZ managing director. The vendor works with local distributor Arrow ECS across the region.

“An estimated US$60 billion is spent annually by private and public sector organisations around the world to address secondary data and application challenges using separate point solutions,” Hourmouzis said.

“The problem is that this creates data silos. Our newly expanded partner program will assist our regional partners to eliminate these silos and deliver additional value through robust services and technical excellence.”

Meanwhile, the new program has expanded its benefits for cloud and managed services providers, although Cohesity was unable to provide further specific details into these new offerings.

It has also expanded partnerships with technology vendors including Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Microsoft, and VMware, further expanding go-to-market solutions for partners.
