Canberra-based Digital61 has won a $14.8-million contract to supply infrastructure services to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
The cloud systems and security integrator will take over a contract previously held by ASG Group, delivering IT infrastructure services until 2022.
Digital61 competed against nine other providers in a public tender process to win the three-year deal with the agency responsible for safety, maritime and aviation search and rescue and marine environment protection.
Specifically, the contract will cover the supply and management of storage and network hardware and software, focusing on service management and integration across the range of infrastructure, application and cloud platform vendors.
According to an AMSA spokesperson, the contract does not include proprietary software or hardware.
“Digital61 will provide a tailored resourcing model comprising dedicated on-site staff with access to subject matter experts,” the spokesperson added. “The final resource model is still to be determined.
“The contract includes a continuous improvement framework to proactively manage the IT environment and ensure that it remains secure and up to date.”
Founded in 2017, Digital61 specialises in designing, building and managing cloud systems, and then integrating them with existing on-premise architectures.
Based in the Australian capital, the company works with at least 14 Federal Government departments, plus organisations such as the National Gallery of Australia, Honeywell and Canberra Institute of Technology.
Digital61 recently acquired Canberra-based network services business Layer127.
