Research firm IDC has announced the winners of its Digital Transformation (DX) awards for Australia and New Zealand.

Taking out three of the six awards were the Auckland-based AI law start-up McCarthyFinch, winning the awards for Talent Accelerator and the overall Digital Disruptor of the Year for their exploration of how AI impacts the legal industry and its legal AI platform Author, as well as CEO Nick Whitehouse winning the DX Leader of the Year award for his advocacy across the legal industry and New Zealand.

Sportsbet won the Information Visionary award for its 10Zing project of real time personalisation of customer data at scale, which is processed, analysed and modelled to send decisions through direct channels back to customers.

Nestlé Australia won the Operating Model Master award for its chain of origin project – the integration of blockchain technology into their supply chain for transparency – allowing for products to be tracked from their beginning of their creation through to their consumption.

Domino’s Pizza won the 2019 Omni Experience Innovator award with its use of augmented reality with the New Pizza Chef, allowing for customers to create a representation of their preferred pizza on mobile devices.

Recipients won the awards based on their achievements for successfully digitising one or multiple areas of their business through disruptive and digital technologies.

Tehmasp Parekh, chief operating officer at IDC Asia Pacific, said the winners are representative of enterprises moving towards integrating third platform technologies into their businesses.

“The winning projects mirror this trend with inclusion of AI, blockchain and analytics to achieve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction,” Parekh said.

“These organisations are successfully thriving with a digitally-native culture, using insights at scale, and deliver new models of customer engagements, all of which are enabled by an intelligent, empowered and agile workforce to evolve into the Future Enterprise.”

Following IDC’s DX awards for A/NZ, the winners will move onto the regional awards where they will compete against other winners in their respective categories from across the region, and will be awarded at IDC’s Digital Transformation Summit in Singapore on 24 October.
