Fujitsu to hire 1000 new staff

Significant hiring to take place in the next 18 months

Fujitsu Australia is planning to hire about 1000 staff and long-term contractors.

Fujitsu Australia CTO, Craig Baty, made the announcement during his speech at a recent Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) meeting.

The new recruits will be used to replace departing employees and for new positions.

“As one of the major players in the ICT industry in Australia, Fujitsu is regularly recruiting people to fuel our local and global growth as well as to cater for natural attrition,” a Fujitsu spokesperson said.

“Fujitsu continues to invest in our local region and strives to create employment opportunities for Australians wherever possible.”

While no further details on headcount numbers or future projections in this area were forthcoming from Fujitsu, the company stresses that there is no specific ‘recruitment drive’ being carried out.

Fujitsu and the AIIA recently helped launch a website, Businesses for a Clean Economy, to allow businesses have their say in the carbon price debate.
