Dimension Data launches 3 global Cloud datacentres

Datacentres are located in Toronto, Canada; Auckland, New Zealand; and Sao Paulo, Brazil

US-based ICT solutions provider Dimension Data announced its three new global Cloud datacentres in Canada, New Zealand and Brazil will go live between now and next month.

The three new global datacentres are located in Toronto, Canada; Auckland, New Zealand and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

These three additions will add up to Dimension Data's 13 public Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) globally.

Dimension Data to manage Cisco's IaaS offering

The launch of the new MCPs follows Cisco's recent announcement that it will use Dimension Data's Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) and SaaS solutions to deliver a suite of mid-market centric Cloud services to its customers and resellers. Dimension Data will manage and operate an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) offering for Cisco, which will be bundled to deliver differentiated hybrid Cloud solutions.

Dimension Data's MCPs host the company's public Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and managed hosting services. Each MCP provides end-users in that region with low-latency access to secure, reliable, enterprise-class public, private and hosted private Cloud services.

"Brazil, Canada, and New Zealand are significant new expansions to our MCP capacity and demonstrate acceleration in the pace of additional deployments. Adding seven new MCPs in just 12 months has almost doubled our footprint," said Steve Nola, CEO of Dimension Data's ITaaS business unit.

According to Nola, CEO of Dimension Data's ITaaS business unit, some recent progresses of the company in the Cloud space include the acquisition of Teleris, a Cloud-based visual communications service provider, the appointment as a SAP-certified provider of Cloud and hosting globally, as well as a Microsoft private Cloud service provider on its Cloud platform.

Dimension Data offers public and private Cloud compute-as-a-service (CaaS) solutions that provide self-service, Cloud-based compute, storage and networking resources. Its cloud services support production SaaS and web applications, enterprise applications, such as SAP, as well as testing and development. All Dimension Data Public MCPs are said to provide 99.99 per cent availability SLAs.
