RIoT Solutions wins multimillion-dollar contract from QLD Govt

Brisbane IoT integrator RIoT Solutions has won a multimillion-dollar contract to provide managed services to the Queensland Government.

The vulnerability management-as-a-service contract will be led from the Queensland Government Chief Information Office’s Cyber Security Unit within the Department of Public Works and Housing.

According to RIoT Solutions, the contract will see the integrator replacing an incumbent service which was first implemented in 2014 for the G20 Brisbane summit.

Under the contract, RIoT Solutions will provide a vulnerability management service over a two year minimum period for 26 departments and other government agencies with the key objective being “to develop an improved understanding of current exposures, inform mitigation activities and track progress relative to business risk objectives,” according to a statement.

Technology involved with the contract includes Rapid7’s InsightVM vulnerability scanner and a security information and event management (SIEM) platform from Splunk, which sits on a locally hosted RIoT Solutions cloud.

The Splunk platform will provide operator, agency and whole-of-government dashboard and report functionality, while RIoT Solutions’ Brisbane operation centre will provide centralised support.
