Veritas honours top performing trans-Tasman partners

Veritas honoured its top performing partners across the channel in Australia and New Zealand, recognising innovation and excellence on both sides of the Tasman. Revealed under the Vivid lights in Sydney, Intalock claimed the coveted Partner of the Year 2017 (Pacific) award, with Data#3 acknowledged for 12 months of strong growth across the market. Meanwhile, Datacom took home the New Zealand honours, with Global Storage and Insentra winning service provider and consulting awards respectively. Dicker Data was recognised as the standout distributor of the year, while Hitachi Data Systems claimed the alliance partner award. Photos by Bob Seary.

Partners turned out in droves to attend AWS’ annual partner summit in Sydney. Held at the Sofitel Wentworth in the heart of the CBD, the event featured keynote addresses from head of channels and alliances A/NZ, Stefan Jansen; head of worldwide alliances, channel and ecosystem, Terry Wise; as well as partners Datacom and Versent. Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) recently hosted its annual 2016 Sales Academy for partners – its first as a brand new company – at Uluru. More than 100 HPE partners, including representatives from Data#3, NTT, Dicker Data, Ingram Micro, Datacom, Sektor and Distribution Central, travelled to the national landmark to learn about the company’s latest innovations, and share ideas and training on sales strategies. EMC named the winners of its 2015 EMC Business Partner Program Awards at an intimate event at Simmer on the Bay in Sydney. Dimension Data Australia nabbed two awards – for the A/NZ partner of the year and A/NZ alliance partner (outstanding achievement award). Ingram Micro Australia took home the A/NZ distributor of the year award. Data#3 was named Solution Provider Partner Australia outstanding achievement award, while Datacom New Zealand was given the Solution Provider Partner New Zealand outstanding achievement award. The Roundtable discussed the rapidly emerging SDN market, the hype, the different models and eco-systems on offer, where the market is going to go in 2014 and beyond, and the overall implications for resellers and their partners. Westcon New Zealand and Data#3 took top honours at Symantec's 2014 Pacific Partner Awards in Sydney, winning the Distributor of the Year and Symantec Partner of the Year categories, respectively. The firms were selected judged on overall performance in revenue growth, achievement of Symantec specialisation, joint marketing activities, program adoption, technical expertise and customer service excellence. Other winners included Ethan Group, Insight, Intalock, Insentra, and Datacom NZ.
