IN PICTURES: Fujitsu marks 30th anniversary in the innovation sector

Fujitsu marked a three-decade milestone by celebrating its 30th anniversary in the innovation sector. Since 1981, with the launch of the FM-8 (Fujitsu’s first 8-bit PC) and the FACOM9450 (Fujitsu’s first PC for business market), Fujitsu has expanded its pioneering presence to complement the constant changing landscape in the ICT industry. Fujitsu PC Australia country manager,Bert Noah, said, “Fujitsu’s success is attributed to 4 value statements - Innovation, Reliability, Human-centric and Green which can be seen in the development of our PC products. Our products are all designed with the end users in mind, resulting in innovations that are reliable and eco-friendly. These innovations offer users the ability to work and live in a manner that stays true to Fujitsu’s brand promise of ‘Shaping tomorrow with you’ and our strong product quality belief of ‘Built-in Confidence’.” With this philosophy in mind, Fujitsu has a long heritage in tablet PCs. The World’s FIRST 1 pound-class handheld computer, Poqet PC was launched in 1990. Fujitsu’s FIRST pen tablet PC, the Poqet Pad was also launched later in 1991. This innovation set the precedence for the rise of tablets in the market today.
