IN PICTURES: Partners and customers dive deep into Huawei
Customers and partners attended the Huawei ICT Road show this week, hosted at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne – a beautiful world heritage building first completed in 1880. The event showcased Huawei solutions along with technology and industry updates, panel discussions with customers, a technology exhibition and container data centre demonstrations. Guests were also treated to networking drinks in the magnificent surroundings accompanied by a string quartet.

Integrate 2014 hosted more than 500 vendors across the audio-visual, unified communications (UC) and smart building industries. In addition to information and training seminars, the exhibition contained an open roadshow floor of local and international technology vendors and integrators, including IT giants and disruptors.

IN PICTURES: Synnex's $45m automated logistics centre launched by Turnbull and Dr Miau
Synnex has opened the doors to its $45 million monster logistics centre with the help of visiting company chairman and director, Dr Matthew Miau, and Minister for Communications, Malcolm Turnbull. The fully-automated facility is located in Lidcombe, a Western Sydney suburb which has grown to become a commercial and industrial hub for major IT players. The centre will operate with Synnex three V philosophy - visibility, velocity, value - to bring vendor and reseller partners predictability. Photos inside the facility were not permitted.

McAfee gives top APAC partner award to Dimension Data
Dimension Data has come away from McAfee’s 2013 Channel Partners Awards as both the security vendor’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) ‘Overall Partner of the Year’. McAfee, part of Intel Security, hosted the gala event as part of its partner conference in Bali, Indonesia, from May 28 to 30. The winners of the 25 categories were selected based on performance, results, and partnerships which demonstrated growth. Other A/NZ winners included Manage Protect (SMB Partner of the Year), Loop Technology (Commercial Partner of the year), Content Security (Growth Partner of the Year), and Ingram Micro (Distributor of the Year).

Westcon New Zealand and Data#3 took top honours at Symantec's 2014 Pacific Partner Awards in Sydney, winning the Distributor of the Year and Symantec Partner of the Year categories, respectively. The firms were selected judged on overall performance in revenue growth, achievement of Symantec specialisation, joint marketing activities, program adoption, technical expertise and customer service excellence. Other winners included Ethan Group, Insight, Intalock, Insentra, and Datacom NZ.

Sydney reseller, ALL.IT, has helped start a smart "groundscraper" revolution in the heart of Melbourne. The Brookvale-based consultant has delivered the Lifestyle Working Collins Street project, in connection with Stable Group, Cisco and Lend Lease. The Victoria Harbour 'groundscraper' delivers a connected small business community a space where voice and data connection is democratised and solar panels come with ownership. It also comes with all the green bells and whistles one would suppose of a smart green-building. The first building from ALL.IT, Stable and Cisco was built in Brookvale, Sydney.
