Extreme Networks has appointed Julian Critchlow into the role of general manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Critchlow, who was previously channel manager for A/NZ, will be responsible for Extreme Networks’ business and strategic direction in the Australian and New Zealand market.

His first priority will be to maintain relationships with partners and customers of wireless-networking vendor Aerohive, which was purchased by Extreme Networks in June for US$210M.

Critchlow previously worked with partners and customers within Extreme Networks’ business network for almost 20 years. He first took up a position with Enterasys Networks in 2004, which was bought out by Extreme Networks in 2013.

“I have worked closely with Extreme’s customers and partners for nearly 20 years to initiate and drive their digital transformation efforts and have never been more excited about the benefits our software-driven solutions portfolio can deliver than I am today,” Critchlow said.

Simon Naylor, vice president for Asia-Pacific and Japan for Extreme Networks said he has enjoyed working with Critchlow in the past and looks forward to future collaborations.

“Julian has an impressive track record in our business, and has the ideal combination of deep technical knowledge, sales experience, and channel management know-how required to run our ANZ business,” Naylor said.

Critchlow will be based in Sydney and has been temporarily holding the position of general manager for A/NZ since April, following the departure of Chris Georgellis.

Meanwhile, Extreme Networks is searching for a replacement for Critchlow previous position of channel manager.
