Astaro sponsors MSPAlliance MSPWorld conference in Sydney

Sophos company, Astaro will sponsor of the 2011 MSPAlliance MSPWorld Conference in Sydney on October 4.

The decision comes as a result of Astaro’s evolving use and integration of cloud technology in its security gateways and gateway accessories.

Astaro director of Cloud products, Soren Maigaard, said, “Last year, Astaro launched Astaro Mail Archiving (AMA) which is a public Cloud solution. This year, we are launching our Log Management solution.”

MSPAlliance are using the event to discuss various topics, including pricing, Cloud computing, automated service and support, security and data protection, in hope of increasing companies’ return on technology investments.

Sourcefire cybersecurity and IPS innovation awarded

Frost & Sullivan has selected cybersecurity solutions provider, Sourcefire, as the winner of its Global Customer Value Enhancement Award for 2011.

Sourcefire qualified for the award following its recent Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) innovations, which provided customers with protection against leading threats.

It comes on the back of the introduction of its 3D8000 series appliances with FirePower, an acceleration technology that builds a universal security architecture.

The company went on further to expand its IPS protection to virtual environments and cloud networks.

DNA offers design and validation service

Connectivity solutions provider, Digital Networks Australia, has made available a design and validation service for partners who are creating high speed fibre networks.

The DNA Fibre Design Service (FDS) gives partners free access to specialists who provide consulting services to accommodate for the emergence of 10GB/sec Ethernet and 8GB/sec FibreChannel (FC) speed technologies.

DNA director, Munsoor Khan, said, “Higher speeds and longer distances mean that designers have much more to think about than just the losses on the cable. Factors including choice of laser, dispersion compensation and buffer credits are all in the mix now.”

The service provides the opportunity to connect across multiple data centres for SAN replication, disaster recovery and resiliency.

These services will be available both online and through classroom training.

ECN Group utilises Yellowfin solutions

ECN Group, a provider of supply chain and logistics software for the retail supply chain and border security markets, is expanding the capabilities of its Round Trip Logistics (RTL) product through the incorporation of Yellowfin Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.

Yellowfin is an Australian Web-based BI software vendor offering reporting and analytics solutions.

By incorporating Yellowfin’s solutions into its RTL online collaboration software, ECN is able to offer revised and enhanced visibility of forward and reverse supply chain transactions and processes.

ECN group CEO, John Axe, said, “Yellowfin has enabled ECN customers to rapidly access customisable reports and dashboards... [it provides them] with the visibility to better manage, understand and relate to their own business data in a visual and powerful way.”
