Sophos honours top performing A/NZ partners

Top partners selected on dedication and success over past 12 months

Sophos has honoured its top performing channel partners across Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ), recognising excellence during the past 12 months.

Revealed during Partner Conference - held in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney - the security specialists acknowledged expertise six categories, based on partner success during the past financial year.

Brennan IT was named Partner of the Year in recognition of the provider's market performance and delivery of service to Sophos customers.

Meanwhile, Arrow ECS Australia was awarded the Distributor of the Year, with Cloudten Industries honoured as the Newcomer of the Year.

From an individual perspective, Tom Ferguson of Powernet IT Solutions was recognised as Partner SE of the Year, while Harriet Mellor from Managed System Services and Danny Thien from Somerville were recognised as in the Sales Person of the Year awards.

For Brennan IT, this was the third time the provider has been honoured through the Sophos partner ecosystem.

Last year, Sophos revealed that only two per cent of cyber attacks in Australia involved cryptocurrency in 2017, whereas in previous years, such threats amounted to 22 per cent of all breaches.

The vendor also reported a significant rise in ransomware across the country, increasing from 30-33 per cent to 57 per cent.
